Good Ol' Kigali.

So we're back in the grand city of Kigali and I do mean grand. Every time I see it and experience it it grows on me.
Willy joined us again today, it was nice to have him around. He knows just about everything you could want to know about Rwanda, it's beyond impressive. It's like if I needed to find a yellow hair clip in Rwanda Willy would know who to call, how to get there and how to get the cheapest price. He's a pretty awesome guy. Also, I don't' know why I didn't know this but he really wants to do inspirational movies one day. Which is kinda incredible as well. In other words Willy is not human he is something way more impressive.

So the main and most thrilling part of today has absolutely been a shower. Crazy I know. But there is nothing, I mean nothing better feeling than removing about 7 layers of red clay from your skin with warm water. But overall Kigali is used for a day of rest before heading up to another park, but this time there will be showers.  I’m stoked.

We also get to pick up our cloth from Josephine and let me tell you. I am pre-eh-tty damn excited. First though laundry. Laundry is a thing that needs to happen and let me tell you, what came out of my clothes? Dirt, and more dirt. It was atrocious. In fact when I drained the tub a very thick layer of dirt lined the sides. Glorious and impressive really.

Also while trying to hang laundry on every available hook like object in the room I stumbled across these.

Yes, condoms. They were neatly tucked away on the top of the dresser with a red candle. And the truth is? I don’t really think I want to know. It was a moment and it happened. So off to the cloth market 90% of us are sick. We’re calling it the epidemic and Sky is patient 0. However, I refuse to get sick. So I went to the pharmacy and spent an atrocious amount on multivitamins and vitamin c. It was surprising though, there was only a big bottle of vitamins and he was asking 19,000 franks for it. Way too much. I told him I couldn’t afford it. So he opened the bottle, all the way mind you and pour half into a container and gave it to me just like that. It blew my mind.

Well at the cloth market, it was chaos again and like always Josephine was a saint. But here’s what I began to realize about cloth markets…they’re addicting. It’s like if you give a mouse a cookie story, but instead..”If you give a girl a personalized homemade dress.. she’s gonna want some pants to go with it”. It’s a real thing. So I may, or may not have ordered 3 more garments.. I’m bad I know. All I can say is thank god Zach (the only boy on the trip) stayed behind he would have taken the bus and left us all there. But we got to try everything on, and get alterations and fall in love with the clothes. And when I say try on? I mean duck behind a sheet in the middle of a market and undress.

My pants? Let me tell you. I'm in love, I wore them right out. Willy told me I looking "indian" trying to wear a dress with pants. Which sparked my dress and blazer buying.. I regret nothing. Also, highlight of the day? Picture with Josephine. No. Big. Deal.

I've sadly been feeling like crap the last few days, with my stomach. Not the epidemic, don't worry.
The night was just hysterical the "small world scenerio" was cracking me up. So let me explain.
Missy, for the last week or so has talked about burritos everyday at least once. So while we were in town we decided "Hey, lets have her dreams fulfilled" so lets start off with a photo sequence of her getting her  burrito at this awesome little, really hip burrito joint. If you're ever in Rwanda I recommend it.

It's love.

So while we are there the guy at the counter serving us chipotle style says after seeing some U of A gear that he just got back from Phoenix. Crazy enough right? THEN, this other guy comes out who's a Tucson native. We ask how long has he been here (4 years, incase your curious) and what on earth he's doing in Rwanda. Well, here were it gets great. He is the owner of the restaurant! So we take a picture with him. He told us next time he's putting a wildcat Jersey on the wall. We approved.

He's in the middle.

So then as we're all assembling to leave (which believe me is an effort), I look out and see Josephine getting off a motorcycle (aka Tigo Taxi motorbike, which I took new pictures of below) to bring a women who was eating at the restaurant her clothes! (Once again, amazing women). So we took more pictures with Josephine to show case her work.

Next we're off to another park for a week, then off to volcanos and Gorillas. I'm hoping I can keep updated with everyone till then. But if not, I'll catch you up. No worries.

All the love!
